Default Zealous weapons viable in PVP?

I was wondering what everyone thinks about zealous weapons and if they are usable in PVP. Also, does anyone know if there are zealous weapons that give more than 1 energy gain per hit?

Thank in advance for any suggestions/help.

One of the keys is to combine a zealous weapon with a multi-hit attack. Barrage is a good example, providing you have a closely packed group of enemies. You sacrifice a tick of regen, but if you're hitting with 6 arrows per barrage, it kind of adds up. :-)

Zealous weapons aren't just viable in PvP. They're drool-worthingly, build alteringly good. They let your character run strats and use skills that were otherwise unable.

And yes, all zealous mods are the same. 1 en on hit (it's not stealing energy, unlike a Vampiric weapon and health, you just gain it) and you lose a pip of regeneration. They used to be available in 2en and 3en versions but ANet has this thing about letting people run around with upwards of the equivalent of 10 or so pips of energy regeneration, in other words, 1en is good. Above that is insanely good and they dumped it once that became apparent...

1 arrow of energy regen only gives a single energy every three seconds.
So long as you attack an enemy at least once every three seconds, you will gain more energy for using a Zealous weapon. Obviously, warriors and rangers will be hitting an enemy more then once every three seconds.

When you take a break from the combat and aren't attacking anyone, you can switch off the Zealous weapon so that you regenerate at your normal increased rate. You only actually have to suffer the -1 while you are using the weapon... and you only need to use it when you are attacking, and when you are attacking the energy gained outweighs the energy regen lost, so Zealous weapons are DEFINATLY worth using.
